High Resolution and High Sensitivity Imaging of Charge Distribution
Physical characterization of semiconductor device has always been a challenging task for device engineers and researchers. Up to now, standard methods for characterizing semiconductors did not provide an effective means for determining two-dimensional quantities of sub-device scale. These methods include Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Secondary Ion M...
متن کاملInhomogeneous M-Theory Cosmologies
Abstract We study a class of inhomogeneous and anisotropic G2 string cosmological models. In the case of separable G2 models we show that the governing equations reduce to a system of ordinary differential equations. We focus on a class of separable G2 M-theory cosmological models, and study their qualitative behaviour (a class of models with time-reversed dynamics is also possible). We find th...
متن کاملA Drift{diffusion Equation for Charge Transport in Inhomogeneous Materials
From a hopping rate equation for disordered materials we derive a macroscopic drift{di usion equation. For this purposes two space{time scales are simultaneously considered. The microscopic dynamics is characterized by the distribution of localized states and the hopping rate. On the macroscopic space scale both the hopping rate and the disordered material are allowed to be inhomogeneous.
متن کاملMomentum Distribution and Charge Density in Solid-State Theory *
We present a discussion of a number of conceptual and methodological aspects associated with the theoretical characterization and computat ion of charge densities and momentum distributions in solids. The main ambition has been to stress properties that both exact and approximate quantities must possess. We have also attempted to point out conceptual and computat ional trends which would seem t...
متن کاملMode-expansion theory for inhomogeneous meta-surfaces.
Modeling meta-surfaces as thin metamaterial layers with continuously varying bulk parameters, we employed a rigorous mode-expansion theory to study the scattering properties of such systems. We found that a meta-surface with a linear reflection-phase profile could redirect an impinging light to a non-specular channel with nearly 100% efficiency, and a meta-surface with a parabolic reflection-ph...
